PP or PET – Which Band Is Right for You?
PP strapping tape is the ideal all-round band for light to medium pallet loads and carton bundling. It is more cost-effective than PET band and offers excellent elasticity: the band absorbs shocks and vibrations without losing tension. PET strapping tape is only recommended for very heavy loads or extremely high tension requirements. For the vast majority of shipping and logistics applications, PP is the most economical choice.

Low sabre effect and low splice tendency: Premium PP quality ensures minimal lateral curl – critical for smooth, uninterrupted machine operation. A simple quality check: unroll three metres and lay the band flat on the floor. A good band shows virtually no curl. The low splice tendency also means the band will not split at the join during machine use.
Temperature range: This PP strapping tape is designed for use at temperatures from 0 °C and above. For applications below freezing, we recommend PET strapping tape.
Closure: Compatible with plastic buckle closures and galvanised metal seals. For manual use, a suitable 12 mm tensioning and sealing tool is required.
